ATEX Level Safety Training Basics

This training provides a structured framework for managing and operating safely in environments where potentially explosive atmospheres may occur. Participants gain a clear understanding of how gas and dust explosions can originate, the conditions under which they may develop, and the technical and organizational measures required to prevent and mitigate such risks.

The course focuses on the principles of safe working practices in hazardous areas, including the identification and classification of explosive atmospheres, ignition sources, and appropriate protective measures. The ATEX Directives and applicable legislation form a central component of the training, ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements.

By combining theoretical foundations with practical guidance, the training enhances awareness, risk perception, and operational discipline when working in hazardous environments.

Target Audience

This course is intended for professionals who work in or are responsible for hazardous areas, including:

  • Production personnel
  • Operators
  • Technicians
  • Engineers
  • Supervisors and managers

ATEX Level Training Advanced – Explosion Safety

The Advanced ATEX Training provides an in-depth and technically detailed treatment of explosion safety within industrial environments. The course offers comprehensive insight into all applicable ATEX legislation, standards, and regulatory requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of compliance obligations.

In addition to the legal framework, the training addresses the systematic classification of hazardous areas into safety zones and the development and maintenance of the Explosion Protection Document (EPD). These elements are tailored to the participant’s specific operational environment and business practices, ensuring direct relevance and practical applicability.

The course is designed for professionals who already possess foundational knowledge and practical experience in explosion protection and who are actively involved in operations, engineering, or safety management within hazardous areas.

Target Audience

This training is intended for experienced professionals, including:

  • Process and safety engineers
  • Technicians and supervisors
  • HSE specialists
  • Operations and maintenance managers

HAZOP Training Basics

The Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) is a widely applied and systematic methodology for identifying hazards, operational deviations, and undesired conditions within industrial installations. The primary objective of a HAZOP study is to identify, assess, and control risks related to both technical processes and human activities.

The Basic HAZOP Training provides participants with a solid introduction to the principles, structure, and practical application of the HAZOP methodology. The course focuses on understanding process deviations, identifying potential causes and consequences, and recognizing appropriate safeguards.

This one-day training is intended for employees who are involved in, or contribute to, risk identification and process safety activities within their organization. Emphasis is placed on practical insight and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Learning Outcome

Upon successful completion of the Basic HAZOP Training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose and scope of a HAZOP study
  • Recognize common hazards and operability issues in industrial processes
  • Apply basic HAZOP terminology and guide words
  • Effectively participate as a team member in a multidisciplinary HAZOP study

HAZOP Training Advanced

The Advanced HAZOP Training is designed to provide participants with in-depth theoretical and practical expertise in the application of Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP). The program consists of a generic foundational module combined with a company-specific addendum, ensuring direct relevance to the participant’s organizational context.

The company-specific addendum aligns HAZOP methodology with the organization’s safety policies, operational procedures, and regulatory framework. To strengthen the connection with daily practice, the training incorporates organization-specific footage, equipment, and installations into the learning materials. This approach ensures a highly practical and recognizable training experience that enhances knowledge retention and applicability.

The training program concludes with a formal assessment. Upon successful completion, participants receive a personalized certificate confirming their competency at an advanced level.

Learning Outcomes

After completing the Advanced HAZOP Training, participants will be able to:

  • Effectively chair and facilitate HAZOP team meetings
  • Identify and compile the relevant technical information and data required to initiate a HAZOP study
  • Define and structure the Terms of Reference for a HAZOP study
  • Systematically identify, analyze, and assess process-related risks and operability issues
  • Manage and control the execution of the HAZOP study, including documentation, communication, and reporting of results

SIL Safety Levels Training

This practical and targeted training course provides participants with a structured introduction to the determination and evaluation of Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) in accordance with IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards. The application of SIL classification is essential to ensuring the functional safety of complex industrial installations.

The IEC standards define a systematic framework for the specification, implementation, operation, and maintenance of safety functions throughout the entire lifecycle of a plant. This training familiarizes participants with electronic and process safety systems commonly used in industrial environments and explains how SIL requirements ensure that safety systems perform their intended functions under defined operating conditions within a specified response time.

Incorrect or insufficient determination of SIL levels can compromise the safety integrity of an installation and may result in unnecessary capital and operational expenditure. This course therefore emphasizes both safety assurance and cost-effective implementation.

The training provides a comprehensive introduction to SIL concepts while incorporating organization-specific tasks, procedures, and operational practices to ensure direct applicability.

Target Audience

This course is intended for professionals involved in functional safety and operational decision-making, including:

  • Operators
  • Technicians
  • Engineers
  • Supervisors and managers
